The Archives & Special Collections at the Joan Weil Adirondack Library include a wide variety of materials. Two major collections are available through NYHeritage. The first is the complete run of the "St. Regian," Paul Smith's College's yearbooks from 1947 to 2002. The second collection is the library's historic photographs from the early years of the Paul Smith Hotel Company until approximately 1950.
The nearly 1000 photographs include the Smith Family, Paul Smith's Hotel grounds, and photography from President Calvin Coolidge's visit to the White Pine Camp. Also included are the Signal Corps and Civilian Conservation Corps collections, when the site of the College was used for training by those two groups. There are also many items of local interest, including the towns of Gabriels, Brighton, & Paul Smiths. The photos cover everything from historic Adirondack scenery and the Hotel Company's electric railroad to Presidential pets and devastating disasters in the form of the 1930 Hotel Fire.
